Discover Airlines has officially announced its direct flights to Seychelles, set to launch on October 27, 2025. The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has granted regulatory approval, a significant milestone that enhances Seychelles’ air connectivity.
In a formal ceremony at the SCAA head office in D’Offay Building, Providence, Garry Albert, the Chief Executive of SCAA, presented the approval letter to Dr. Adewale Sanni, Discover Airlines’ Station Manager for Nairobi and Seychelles. This event was attended by key personnel instrumental in the approval process.
As part of the Lufthansa Group, Discover Airlines will operate scheduled flights from Frankfurt to Seychelles twice weekly with an Airbus A330, accommodating 310 passengers. This move expands the airline’s extensive network, which already covers over 63 destinations worldwide, including Europe, North America, Africa, and the Caribbean. The introduction of this route to Seychelles not only strengthens the aviation network but also provides critical direct access between Europe and Seychelles, driving economic benefits for the nation.
This development is the result of the updated Air Transport Agreement signed between the Republic of Seychelles and the Federal Republic of Germany during the ICAO Air Services Negotiation Event (ICAN) in Kuala Lumpur in October 2024. The revised agreement significantly boosts the permitted flight frequencies from three to fourteen weekly and allows up to five airlines to operate scheduled services between Seychelles and Germany, further solidifying Seychelles as a key player in the Indian Ocean aviation market.
