President Wavel Ramkalawan chaired a scheduled meeting of the Cabinet on Wednesday, 10th September, in which several legal and policy memoranda were approved.
The Cabinet approved the legal implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. This decision underscores Seychelles’ commitment to international obligations, strengthens national and regional security, and enables access to Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) capacity-building and technical cooperation.
Cabinet approved the immediate recognition and enforcement of all applicable United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions by all Government entities. The Foreign Affairs Department will disseminate existing and future UNSC resolutions, while relevant entities will review and update their legislation and regulations to ensure full compliance.
