Seychelles Breweries Ltd has officially appointed Laurent Theysset as its new managing director, effective September 1, 2025. Mr. Theysset, a 45-year-old French national, is set to bring extensive international leadership experience in the beverage and consumer goods sectors to the company.
Previously, he served as the general manager of Edena in Reunion since June 2020, where he successfully navigated significant challenges, including the Gilet Jaune crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic. His leadership during these times led to improved profitability and sustainable growth for the business.
Mr. Theysset holds an MBA in Science in Management Programmes and has completed multiple executive leadership development programmes. He began his career at LVMH in Spain and has since taken on senior brand leadership roles in Russia with L’Oréal, including serving as Brand Director for Russian Vodka.
For the past nine years, he has held various senior management positions within the Carlsberg Group, significantly deepening his expertise in the beverage industry. At Edena, he played a crucial role in expanding the brand portfolio, introducing international brands such as Carlsberg, Kronenbourg, and Pernod Ricard spirits, which greatly enhanced the company’s market presence and performance.
Mr. Theysset has a proven track record of accelerating value creation and possesses a strong understanding of the Phoenix Beverages Group (PBG) culture, having worked within its ecosystem. This appointment follows PBG’s recent acquisition of a majority shareholding in Seychelles Breweries Limited, marking a significant new era of growth and transformation for the company in the Indian Ocean Region.
