My name is Kiarah Bijoux, I am 20 years old, and I live at English River. From a young age, I always believed that passion and persistence could turn simple dreams into powerful realities. Today, I proudly call myself a fashion designer, but this journey was not without its challenges, sacrifices, and moments of doubt.
My story began in 2021, when I enrolled at SA Tailoring to learn the art of sewing. For three long years, I dedicated myself to mastering the craft. It was far from easy. Sewing requires patience, precision, and countless hours of practice. There were days I felt overwhelmed, when the fabric just wouldn’t align, when stitches unravelled after hours of work, and when I questioned if I had chosen the right path. But deep inside, I knew that every challenge was shaping me into someone stronger. I reminded myself that nothing beautiful is created overnight; great things take time, focus, and heart.
Through these experiences, I discovered that fashion is not only about clothes; it is about self-expression, creativity, and identity. Every piece of fabric held a story, and every stitch represented resilience. I grew not only as a tailor but also as a young woman who learned to persevere.
In 2024, with courage and faith, I took a bold step and launched my own small business: Bijoux Beauty’s Fashion. This venture became my way of blending two passions, designing clothes and creating jewellery. For me, jewellery is more than just accessories; it is art in miniature form. Necklaces, bracelets, and earrings carry elegance and personality, adding the finishing touch that completes an outfit. Each piece I design is inspired by beauty, confidence, and the idea that fashion should make people feel empowered.
Opening my business was not simply about starting a brand; it was about believing in myself. As a young entrepreneur, I face daily challenges, but every obstacle is also a new opportunity to learn and grow. My dream is not only to build a successful fashion brand but also to inspire other young people, especially women, that it is possible to chase your dreams, no matter how hard the road may seem.
Fashion has taught me discipline, resilience, and creativity. Jewellery has taught me patience and attention to detail. And life has taught me that when passion meets hard work, nothing is impossible.
I want my story to be a reminder: dreams are stitched together one step at a time. Just like sewing, life requires focus, precision, and sometimes the courage to redo things until they are right. Today, I look back and realise that every late night, every mistake, and every doubt was worth it, because it brought me here, to a place where I can proudly say: I am building my future, one design at a time.
To every young person reading my story, I want you to know this: dreams are not built in a single day, but step by step, with faith and determination. The road will not always be smooth; you will face setbacks, doubts, and moments when giving up feels easier. But remember, every challenge is shaping you into the person you are meant to become.
Do not be afraid to start small. Do not be afraid to fail. What matters is that you keep moving forward with courage and passion. Believe in your gift, nurture it, and use it to create something meaningful.
If I, a 20-year-old from English River, could start with just a needle, thread, and a dream, and today run Bijoux Beauty’s Fashion, then you too can turn your passion into purpose. Keep going, keep creating, and keep shining, because the world is waiting for the beauty only you can bring.
