Strengthening Health Information Exchange in Seychelles

On the 21st July 2025, the Ministry of Health officially launched a Health Information Exchange (HIE) Maturity Assessment Workshop, proudly facilitated and funded by Africa CDC.

Hosted at the beautiful Savoy Resort & Spa, Beau Vallon, the workshop ran until Friday 25th July, bringing together local experts and international facilitators to assess our current systems and chart the way forward towards an integrated, secure, and responsive health information ecosystem.

The event was officially opened by the Principal Secretary for Health, Dr Bernard Valentin, who welcomed this important step in our digital health transformation. Opening remarks were also delivered by MrBekure Tamirat, Health Information Exchange Lead at Africa CDC, who reaffirmed the organisation’s strong support for Seychelles.

Together, we’re building the foundations for smarter health care, better data use, and faster emergency response for all.
